Vitality defends 2026 EWC crown; MLBB MWI sets viewership record

Team Vitality beat NAVI PH 4-2 in the grand final of the MLBB Women’s Invitational (MWI) at the 2026 Esports World Cup, securing $150,000 of the $500,000 prize pool and its second consecutive MWI title.

Tournament organizers reported a peak audience of 565,500 viewers for the event and an average viewership of about 129,500 across the series. Total watch time for the tournament exceeded 5 million hours. The grand final drew the single highest match audience of the event.

The MWI returned to the Esports World Cup for its third consecutive year in 2026. Organizers noted year-over-year growth: peak viewership rose 14 percent from 2025, average viewership increased 17 percent, and total hours watched climbed by more than a third compared with last year.

Comparing across two years, the MWI peak audience more than doubled from roughly 265,000 in 2024 to 565,500 in 2026. Total watch time rose from about 2.5 million hours in 2024 to over 5 million hours in 2026.

The tournament field expanded to 16 teams in 2026 from 12 teams in 2024. Organizers linked the larger field and the rising viewership numbers to the event’s growing presence on the Esports World Cup schedule and in women’s professional Mobile Legends: Bang Bang competition.

The 2026 final resumed a rivalry that began at the Esports World Cup’s first MLBB Women’s Invitational in 2024. The current NAVI PH core competed under the Omega Empress name in 2024 and defeated Vitality to win that edition. Vitality reclaimed the title in 2025, and the 2026 final marked the first direct meeting between Vitality and the roster that beat them in 2024. Vitality closed the best-of-seven series 4-2.
