T1 drives MSI 2026 Play-In peak past 1.39M

T1’s opening matches at MSI 2026 Play-In in Daejeon peaked at more than 1.39 million viewers, 59.8% higher than the same stage in 2025, with two series drawing the largest audiences.

After two days of competition in Daejeon, tournament organizers reported a Play-In peak of more than 1.39 million viewers, 59.8% higher than the same stage at MSI 2025. T1 opened the Play-In with consecutive 3–0 wins over Team Liquid and Karmine Corp. The match against Team Liquid peaked at over 1.39 million viewers, and the Karmine Corp series exceeded 1.2 million viewers, a record for a match involving a European team.

Changes to the team lineup altered language viewership. Portuguese-language peak viewership fell from 203,000 in 2025 to 44,500 in 2026, a decline of 78%, after FURIA began the tournament in the Bracket Stage. Korean-language peaks rose from 116,000 to 462,000 with T1 playing on home soil. Vietnamese-language peak viewership increased as well; last year’s opening-day Vietnamese peak of 153,700 was driven by GAM Esports, while this stage has already drawn a larger Vietnamese-speaking audience linked to T1’s following in Vietnam.

MSI 2026 offers one Play-In spot to the Bracket Stage, down from two in 2025. T1 needs one more victory to secure that berth. On July 1, T1 will face the winner of the lower-bracket match between Team Liquid and Karmine Corp in a winner-takes-all series.

The current Play-In peak is 23% higher than the final MSI 2025 Play-In benchmark of 1.13 million viewers. The MSI 2026 Play-In has entered the top four League of Legends events of the year by peak viewership and has already exceeded the peak of the LCK 2026 season. T1 reached the Play-In for the second time in three years after missing direct qualification through the LCK; mid laner Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok is on the roster.
