Sweepstakes operators exit Indiana ahead of July ban

Several sweepstakes operators updated terms in June and told players they will stop offering sweepstakes games in Indiana before the state’s July 1 ban.

In June, multiple sweepstakes casino platforms updated their terms and restricted access for players in Indiana ahead of the state’s July 1 prohibition on sweepstakes gaming. Several operators blocked Indiana users or announced withdrawal dates timed to the ban.

Brands operated by B-Two that moved to close Indiana accounts include McLuck, Hello Millions, PlayFame and SpinBlitz. Mega Bonanza and Jackpota had already left the market. Other platforms adding Indiana to their restricted lists during June included Blazesoft brands such as Fortune Wins and Zula, along with Modo, High 5 Casino, Punt, Chanced, Funzpoints, Baba Casino, Spree, Ace, Peak Play, LuckyBits Vegas, Lavish Luck and Rune Wager.

Maine, which will ban sweepstakes casinos on July 15, saw similar updates. Operators that added Maine to their restricted territories during June included Pulsz and Pulsz Bingo from Yellow Social, Blazesoft, Modo, Funzpoints, Baba Casino, Spree, Ace, Peak Play and Ruby Sweeps. B-Two set its Maine exit date for July 15.

Iowa tightened regulators’ enforcement authority rather than imposing an outright ban. The new law gives regulators clearer powers to seek cease-and-desist orders and injunctive relief against unlicensed operators. In June several platforms added Iowa to their eligibility changes, including High 5 Casino, Baba Casino, Peak Play, Ruby Sweeps, LuckyBits Vegas and Lucky Bunny.

Operators also changed coverage in other states. B-Two announced exits from Tennessee effective July 13. Blazesoft added Illinois to its restricted territories, Rolling Riches added Utah, and Smiles Casino added Tennessee. Clubs Casino and Clubs Poker added Tennessee restrictions. Shuffle limited Illinois play to a Gold Coin mode, and Peak Play added Kentucky. Market updates included WOW Vegas, Rolla and MetaWin expanding to Canada; Punt and Chanced removing West Virginia; and Speed Sweeps, Rich Sweeps and Sweeps Royal withdrawing from Virginia. Separately, Kick Games launched a new site, GetGud.win, after closing Kickr earlier in the year.

State-level action in 2026 includes sweepstakes bans or effective dates in Indiana (effective July 1), Maine (July 15), Tennessee (effective), Louisiana (effective Aug. 1) and Oklahoma (effective Nov. 1). Iowa and Nevada have strengthened enforcement tools for regulators. In 2025, California, Connecticut, Montana, New Jersey and New York enacted sweepstakes-specific restrictions. Idaho, Michigan and Washington remain largely unavailable to most sweepstakes platforms due to existing laws or prior enforcement efforts.

A Washington, D.C. bill that would legalize online casinos and ban sweepstakes casinos remains under consideration but has not been scheduled for further hearings. Several large operators had not announced plans for Indiana or Maine by the end of June. Operators face upcoming deadlines in July and August tied to state prohibitions and enforcement changes.
