Oobit links USDT to Brazil’s Pix, settles in BRL

Oobit connected its app to Brazil’s Pix on June 23, allowing users to send USDT and other stablecoins that settle as Brazilian reais into Pix-linked bank accounts and wallets. Recipients receive a local-currency BRL transfer through Pix while the crypto layer is handled behind the scenes.
Users can authorize stablecoin or crypto balances in the Oobit app and send value to a Pix key or deposit via Pix. Oobit’s product pages state transfers typically arrive in seconds, support BRL and list Pix as an available payout option. Verification is required and fees, limits and product availability vary by location.
The company describes the feature as a bridge between crypto balances and existing Pix payment behavior, so payees see a conventional Pix transfer in reais rather than a crypto handoff. Oobit has not published full details on conversion rates, settlement partners or all fee structures that apply to the flow.
In February the company introduced wallet-to-bank transfers that let stablecoins held in self-custody wallets settle into bank accounts via local rails including Pix. Oobit raised a $25 million Series A round led by Tether.
Pix is Brazil’s real-time domestic payment system. Banco Central do Brasil reports Pix has reached nearly 170 million users. Oobit’s integration connects crypto-sourced value to a payment rail used by consumers and merchants for transfers and payments.
Oobit’s FAQ lists verification steps, fees, limits and location-based availability as operational constraints. The company confirmed the Brazil/Pix rollout on its official X account on June 23.
Potential measures of uptake include frequency of Pix-key payouts, BRL deposits via Pix and counts of active Brazilian users. Under the new flow, recipients receive local-currency transfers while senders can source value from supported stablecoins held or authorized in the Oobit app.
