MPL Indonesia Tops June Esports; IEM Cologne Leads English
MPL Indonesia Season 17 peaked near 2.95 million viewers in June. IEM Cologne Major led English broadcasts with more than 1.08 million peak viewers.
MPL Indonesia Season 17 was the most-watched esports event in June, reaching nearly 2.95 million peak viewers during its Grand Final. IEM Cologne Major ranked highest for English-language broadcasts with more than 1.08 million peak viewers. In total, seven tournaments passed one million peak viewers in June and three exceeded two million.
MPL Indonesia reached its peak during the final between Bigetron by Vitality and ONIC Esports, where Bigetron won 4–1 to claim its first MPL Indonesia title. The league’s English-language broadcasts topped 250,000 peak viewers for the first time in the competition’s history. At the time, the season ranked second among Mobile Legends events in 2026, behind the M7 World Championship.
IEM Cologne Major recorded more than 2.75 million peak viewers overall and set new records in Counter-Strike for peak viewers, average viewers and hours watched. The event was the first Counter-Strike tournament to exceed 100 million hours watched. Team Falcons swept FURIA 3–0 in the final, giving Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov their first Major titles. Community and co-stream broadcasts accounted for nearly half of the event’s audience.
South Korea’s LCK 2026 Road to MSI placed third for June after the deciding series between T1 and Gen.G drew about 2.27 million peak viewers. T1 won the series 3–2 and secured one of South Korea’s berths at the Mid-Season Invitational alongside Hanwha Life Esports; Gen.G did not qualify for MSI for the first time since 2022. The Mid-Season Invitational began on June 28, and its Play-In matches generated more than 1.39 million peak viewers during T1’s series against Team Liquid.
The 2026 Asian Games Southeast Asia Mobile Legends qualifiers reached about 1.27 million peak viewers, peaking when Malaysia beat Indonesia 2–1. The qualifier featured national teams competing for five Asian Games spots.
When limited to English-language broadcasts, IEM Cologne remained the leader with more than 1.08 million peak viewers, more than twice the English peak of any other event in the top five. Valorant Masters London had roughly 483,625 English concurrent viewers during its grand final, where Leviatán defeated Paper Rex. A creator-hosted Rocket League 3v3 event produced by Nicholas “Jynxzi” Stewart drew about 476,000 English peak viewers; the broadcast used Twitch Drops and targeted promotion.
Channel-level figures mirrored tournament rankings. Counter-Strike channels affiliated with the event registered the largest hours-watched totals, with one YouTube channel reaching about 12.95 million hours and the associated Twitch channel adding about 11.51 million hours during IEM Cologne. MPL Indonesia’s main YouTube channel peaked at roughly 806,000 concurrent viewers during the Season 17 final. KRAFTON India Esports recorded about 9.3 million hours watched and a 451,000 peak, driven by the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series 2026, which reached nearly 730,000 peak viewers and about 12.7 million hours watched as GodLike completed a last-to-first comeback in the Grand Finals.
