IEM Rio 2026 peaks at 820,200 viewers; Vitality–Falcons tops groups

IEM Rio 2026 group stage reached a peak of 820,200 concurrent viewers and 11.3 million hours watched; Vitality vs Falcons was the highest-viewed match.
The group stage of IEM Rio 2026 in Rio de Janeiro reached a peak concurrent audience of 820,200 and generated 11.3 million hours watched. The Group A match between Team Vitality and Team Falcons recorded the single highest concurrent viewership during group play.
Broadcasts averaged 367,300 viewers across the group stage. Organizers reported that key metrics roughly doubled compared with IEM Rio 2024. The number of unique broadcast channels rose from about 80 in 2024 to more than 200 in 2026, with larger audiences on YouTube and measurable contributions from Kick. Event organizers also cited a larger prize pool and higher ranking points as factors that increased team and fan participation.
On the competitive side, Team Vitality entered the event as the world No. 1. Vitality beat G2 Esports 2-1 in the second round, ending G2’s 24-map winning streak. In the next round Vitality lost 2-1 to Team Falcons; the final map went to overtime, and Falcons secured the group’s top seed.
In Group B, Natus Vincere defeated B8 Esports in a Ukrainian matchup, then fell to Brazilian side FURIA. FURIA advanced from the group stage and will compete in the playoff bracket. All major teams that entered the event advanced from group play.
The playoffs begin April 17 with best-of-three matches MOUZ vs Team Spirit and Natus Vincere vs Team Vitality. Winners from those opening matches will face Team Falcons and FURIA on April 18 in the semifinals. The event concludes April 19 with a third-place match and a best-of-five grand final.
The Natus Vincere–Team Vitality rematch is scheduled after Vitality’s recent grand final win over Natus Vincere at BLAST Open Spring 2026.
