IEM Cologne Major Stage 3 Tops 1M Peak Viewers

Stage 3 of the IEM Cologne Major 2026 opened on the first day with a peak audience above 1 million viewers and a 30% increase in average viewers compared with the Stage 3 opener at the Budapest Major. Event viewership figures also show Hours Watched rose by almost 39% and peak viewers finished roughly 12% ahead of the Budapest Stage 3 opening.

Stage 3 brings all top teams into play after two Swiss rounds. Organizers scheduled all Stage 3 matches as best-of-three series, extending the broadcast day and reducing the likelihood of early upsets.

The day’s highest-viewed series was Team Falcons versus G2 Esports, which drew about 986,000 peak viewers. That matchup paired Nikola NiKo Kovač and Ilya m0NESY Osipov against their former organization.

A regional match between Team Spirit and Natus Vincere peaked at roughly 9,000 viewers; Team Spirit won 2-0 and moved into the 1-0 pool.

Team Vitality lost the first map to FUT Esports and then won the next two to complete a reverse sweep, with Mathieu ZywOo Herbaut standing out across the final maps.

Teams advancing from earlier rounds produced results on the opening day: 9z Team defeated PARIVISION, BB Team eliminated The MongolZ, and FURIA beat B8 to start their Stage 3 runs.

The best-of-three format increased total broadcast hours. Event figures record a near 39% rise in Hours Watched, a 30% rise in Average Viewers and about a 12% improvement in Peak Viewers compared with the Budapest Stage 3 opening.
