Four dormant Ethereum wallets sold 33,623 ETH near $1,500

Four long-dormant Ethereum wallets sold 33,623 ETH from an eight-year stash, raising about $52.5 million at an average near $1,560 as ETH traded around $1,500.

Four long-dormant Ethereum wallets moved 33,623 ETH this week out of an original 37,602 ETH received about eight years ago. The transfers generated roughly $52.5 million at an average price of about $1,560 while Ether traded near $1,575.

On-chain records show the addresses received the coins roughly eight years ago and remained inactive through prior market cycles before moving the bulk of the holdings in recent days. At the time of the transfers, individual sale prices clustered near $1,560 and market quotes for ETH were close to the $1,500 area.

The total moved is small relative to daily global ETH trading volume but notable because the coins came from long-idle addresses that could have been sold in earlier, higher-price periods. The transfers increased the visible supply that market participants can buy or trade around current price levels.

U.S. spot Ether exchange-traded funds recorded net outflows from June 22 through June 26, removing a channel for institutional spot demand during the same period the dormant-wallet moves appeared.

On-chain measures of network activity show about $37.2 billion in DeFi total value locked on Ethereum and more than $155 billion in stablecoin balances on the protocol. Those figures describe on-chain use and liquidity available for settlement and decentralized finance.

Market participants will watch whether new spot buyers step in around the $1,500 area. Possible sources of demand include renewed ETF inflows, direct accumulation by investors or corporate treasuries, increased DeFi activity, or broader returns of risk appetite.
