ZywOo, Vitality Place Two in CS2 Top Five for Q1 2026
A Q1 2026 esports report named Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut the top CS2 player; Team Vitality placed two players among the top three in a five-player ranking.
A Q1 2026 esports report ranked Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut the top Counter-Strike 2 player for the quarter and placed two Team Vitality members among the top three in a five-player list. The ranking combined play quality, prize money and viewership to assess impact during January through March and early April 2026.
Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut earned the No. 1 position after posting high player ratings and several clutch performances in March and April. The AWPer/Rifler was listed among the Exceptionally Valuable Players at the BLAST Open Spring 2026 and held the highest year-to-date player rating in CS2. Team Vitality won PGL Cluj‑Napoca 2026 in February and captured multiple titles in the quarter, pushing its all-time Counter-Strike prize earnings past $10 million as of April 24, 2026.
Danil “donk” Kryshkovets of Team Spirit was ranked second. The 19-year-old entry fragger received two EVP awards at BLAST Open Spring 2026 and IEM Kraków 2026 and contributed to Team Spirit’s third-place finish in Kraków. Spirit also recorded top-eight placements at BLAST Bounty Winter 2026 and the ESL Pro League 23 Finals during the quarter.
Shahar “FlameZ” Shushan of Team Vitality placed third. The 22-year-old rifler claimed three EVP recognitions at BLAST Open Spring 2026, PGL Cluj‑Napoca 2026 and IEM Kraków 2026 and ranked among Vitality’s highest-rated players for 2026. Vitality’s tournament results in Q1 positioned the team as a frontrunner going into upcoming spring events.
Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov of Team Falcons was fourth on the list. The 20-year-old AWPer was named an EVP at PGL Cluj‑Napoca 2026 despite Falcons exiting in the first round of the playoff bracket there. Team Falcons’ only major trophy remains PGL Bucharest 2025; the organization reached several finals thereafter but did not add another championship after m0NESY joined.
Dmitriy “Sh1ro” Sokolov of Team Spirit rounded out the top five. The 24-year-old AWPer registered an EVP performance during Spirit’s podium run in Poland and has been a key contributor to Spirit’s results in Q1. Team Spirit qualified for most premier events in the quarter but did not convert those appearances into multiple championships.
The report that produced the ranking described the selection as subjective and said it used a mix of prize pools, viewership figures and evaluations of play quality rather than a single statistical metric. The Q1 analysis covered results and individual performances at major events including BLAST Open Spring 2026, PGL Cluj‑Napoca 2026 and IEM Kraków 2026.
Several high-profile events remain on the calendar. Team Vitality is one tournament win away from completing the ESL Grand Slam, and top teams are preparing for IEM Rio 2026 and the IEM Cologne Major 2026. End-of-year player awards and postseason honors will take performances across those events into account.
