VCT EMEA Stage 1 Falls Below 100K Average Viewers

VCT 2026 EMEA Stage 1 averaged under 100,000 viewers as French-language audience fell sharply amid poor results from Karmine Corp and Gentle Mates.

VCT 2026 EMEA Stage 1 averaged under 100,000 viewers during the group stage, the lowest average for a Stage 1 in VCT history. The event recorded about 8 million total hours watched, an almost 30% year-over-year decline for the EMEA circuit.

The single most-watched match was Fnatic versus Team Vitality, which peaked at roughly 180,000 viewers. That peak was about 26.9% lower than the same fixture last year. While this stage is the weakest Stage 1 on record, the VCT 2024 EMEA League Stage 2 remains the single lowest VCT stage overall with a 96.4K average.

French-language viewership showed the steepest decrease among the event’s top demographics. Teams that historically drew large French-speaking audiences, including Karmine Corp and Gentle Mates, had poor results early in the season and their associated streams lost viewers. Since 2024, supplemental co-streams in French and Spanish had contributed to EMEA totals; the drop in interest around those streams reduced overall viewership for the group stage.

For the Stage 1 playoffs, Fnatic and FUT Esports finished at the top of their groups and advanced directly to the upper-bracket semifinals. The podium teams from Stage 1 will qualify for Masters London, scheduled for June 6–21 at the Copper Box Arena.

Audience tracking data across multiple seasons shows a decline in EMEA viewership for Valorant compared with earlier peaks. The lower live reach and smaller streaming peaks at several marquee matches this stage coincided with the reduced co-stream and regional audiences.

Teams that advance from Stage 1 remain eligible to represent EMEA at Masters London. Organizers and teams will move on to the playoff phase with qualification to the London event at stake and with attention on whether viewership patterns change ahead of the international tournament.
