T1 secured a spot at the League of Legends Esports World Cup 2026 after a 3-1 qualifier win over Dplus. Preliminary viewer data shows the match peaked at more than 500,000 live viewers. The win completed T1’s unbeaten upper-bracket run and confirmed one of 16 main-event berths for the tournament in Paris, scheduled for July 15-19, 2026.
T1 opened the qualifier with consecutive 2-0 wins against Brion and FearX. Dplus won the only map T1 dropped in the qualifier but fell 3-1 in the series. T1 advanced directly to the Paris main event without dropping to the lower bracket.
Dplus moved to the lower bracket and will have another chance to qualify. The team will face the winner of Nongshim RedForce vs Hanwha Life Esports on May 26 for the final Korean qualifying spot. The lower-bracket route gives teams eliminated from the upper bracket a single remaining chance to reach the main event.
With T1 qualified, eight of the 16 teams for Paris are now known. Team Secret qualified from APAC. G2 Esports and Karmine Corp claimed EMEA slots. Sentinels won the North American qualifier. AG.AL International and JD Gaming advanced from China. Gen.G secured a place by winning the League of Legends event at the Esports World Cup 2025.
Remaining berths will be decided through domestic qualifiers, a South America & LATAM qualifier scheduled for the second half of June, and by performance in the spring splits of the LCK, LPL, LEC, LCS, CBLOL and LCP. Sixteen teams will compete for a $2 million prize pool in Paris. Final viewership figures for the qualifier will be posted on the event page within 24 hours.
