The Week 3, Day 2 match between Selangor Red Giants and RRQ Tora drew a peak audience of 633,544 during the MPL Malaysia Season 17 Regular Season. Selangor Red Giants won the match 2-0. The figure is a record peak for a single Regular Season match in the league.

The 633,544 peak represented an 88.2% increase over the Regular Season peak from MPL Malaysia Season 16. The first split of the 2026 season recorded 17.7 million hours watched in the Regular Season, a 148% rise compared with Season 16. The schedule was extended by two weeks this season, and the league played more games despite having two fewer teams under the revised format.

RRQ Tora joined the Malaysian circuit earlier this year as part of a larger Indonesian organization. The team’s entry coincided with a rise in Indonesian viewership for the event, with peak Indonesian audience numbers up about 62.8% versus Season 16 totals.

Selangor Red Giants and RRQ Tora were the most-watched teams by average viewers across the Regular Season. The Selangor–RRQ match was the only Regular Season game to surpass 600,000 peak viewers. Two other matches reached roughly 500,000 peak viewers; each involved either Selangor Red Giants or RRQ Tora.

After roughly seven weeks of play, Selangor Red Giants topped the Regular Season table with a 12-2 record and were the only team to reach double-digit wins. Invictus Gaming finished second with a 9-5 record. Selangor Red Giants and Invictus Gaming advanced directly to the Playoffs Upper Bracket Semifinals.

Teams finishing third through sixth-RRQ Tora, Bigetron MY by VIT, Team Rey and Team Vamos-moved into the Play-ins stage. Play-ins begin on June 3, with RRQ Tora facing Team Vamos and Bigetron MY by VIT meeting Team Rey. Winners will advance to the Upper Bracket Semifinals; losers will be eliminated.
