Riot reveals Summit map and Retake 3v3 at Masters London
Riot Games announced Summit, a vertical mountain map, and Retake, a permanent 3v3 mode that starts with the Spike planted, during the VALORANT Masters London 2026 Grand Final.
Riot Games revealed Summit, a vertically layered VALORANT map, and confirmed Retake, a permanent 3v3 game mode, during the VALORANT Masters London 2026 Grand Final at the Copper Box Arena. The tournament ran June 6–21 and concluded with a Grand Final between Paper Rex and Leviatán.
Summit is set on a mountain facility above the clouds and emphasizes vertical combat and fast rotations. The layout includes interconnected routes and elevated sightlines that create multiple approaches to each site. Riot showcased the map in a special showmatch during the broadcast and plans to add Summit to the official map pool at the start of Act 4.
Retake begins each round with the Spike already planted. One team defends the site while the opposing team attempts to retake it before time runs out. Players enter rounds with predefined loadouts, removing economy decisions so play focuses on gunplay, utility use and post-plant choices. Riot described Retake as a way to provide shorter, action-focused rounds and a setting to practice late-round scenarios.
Act 4 will bring Summit and Retake alongside balance adjustments, quality-of-life updates and a new Battle Pass. The Battle Pass will cost 1,000 VP and contains both a free and a paid track. Riot showed examples of paid rewards including the Sky Reaper Ghost and melee sword, the Tacti-Guild Phantom and Intertwine Guardian weapon skins, plus new buddies, sprays and player cards.
Riot streamed the reveals during the Masters London broadcast to present the map and mode in a live competitive setting. The developer stated that full patch notes, precise release timing and additional details will be published ahead of Act 4’s launch.
