PGL to host $1.3M Counter-Strike Major in Lodz, 2027

PGL announced on its official X account that it will return to Poland to host a $1.3 million Counter-Strike Major at Atlas Arena in Lodz from March 18–28, 2027. The event, billed as PGL Lodz 2027, will feature 16 teams: 14 teams invited based on the Global VRS rankings as of December 7, 2026, and two teams earning spots through European qualifiers.

The tournament carries a $1 million base prize pool. An additional $300,000 will be distributed among the five highest-ranked VRS teams competing at the Major. PGL confirmed the viewership incentive program introduced in 2026 will continue; the program awards bonuses to teams that register the highest average concurrent viewership (CCV) during the event.

PGL has posted full format details and qualifier schedules on its official channels. Information for teams on media monetization and commercial arrangements is available on PGL’s website. The event will be held at Atlas Arena, a major indoor venue in Lodz with capacity for large-scale sporting and entertainment events.

This will be PGL’s first Polish event since the PGL Major Krakow 2017. Earlier this year, a Polish Counter-Strike tournament in February recorded a peak audience of more than 1.38 million viewers, a national record for an esports event.

Organizers intend to monitor viewership and commercial performance as qualifiers take place and teams are confirmed. Further operational and commercial details will be released by PGL in the lead-up to the event.
