PGL Astana 2026 group stage peaks at 686,000 viewers

PGL Astana 2026’s group stage reached a peak of more than 686,000 concurrent viewers, a 46% increase from the 2025 group stage, and generated over 11.8 million hours watched during the Swiss Stage. Average viewership across the group stage rose about 20% compared with last year, despite running at the same time as another major event.

The Swiss Stage featured 16 teams competing across five rounds, with playoff qualification decided before the bracket stage that begins May 15. The playoffs are scheduled for May 15–17; the final day will include both the Grand Final and a third-place match.

Organizers reported that broadcasters increased the number of unique language feeds, including Portuguese and Russian. Streamer Alexandre “Gaules” Borba used multistreaming on Kick during the group stage. Several high-profile matches produced large spikes in concurrent viewers. The most-watched series was Team Spirit versus FURIA, which peaked at more than 685,400 concurrent viewers. Two Team Falcons series rounded out the top three most-watched matches.

On the competitive side, 9z secured an early playoff spot after consecutive wins over PARIVISION, Team Falcons and MOUZ. Magic clinched the final playoff position with elimination wins over HEROIC and Gentle Mates. MongolZ and PARIVISION did not advance out of the group stage.

Opening round playoff matchups list 9z Team versus Magic, Team Falcons versus FURIA, MOUZ versus Aurora Gaming, and G2 Esports versus Team Spirit. Team Falcons and FURIA enter the playoffs ranked third and fourth globally in current rankings.

Event statistics show peak concurrent viewership up 46% and average viewership up about 20% versus the 2025 edition, while total hours watched for the group stage rose nearly 15% year over year.
