MPL Indonesia tops May esports with 1.8M peak viewers
MPL Indonesia Season 17 reached a 1.8 million peak live audience in May 2026, the highest of the month; LCK and PGL Astana ranked below it in monthly viewership.
MPL Indonesia Season 17 reached a peak live audience of more than 1.8 million viewers in May 2026. The highest point occurred during the match between ONIC Esports and RRQ Hoshi. RRQ Hoshi finished the group stage with a 2–14 record and did not qualify for the playoffs.
MPL Philippines Season 17 placed second for the month, peaking at nearly 1.7 million live viewers during the Grand Final between Team Liquid PH and Team Falcons PH. That event recorded the largest live audience in MPL Philippines history.
League of Legends events also ranked among the top five. The LCK hit its May high during the T1 versus Gen.G matchup. A creator-led League of Legends tournament organized by Jynxzi, featuring popular streamers rather than professional teams, peaked at just over 921,000 live viewers.
In Counter-Strike, PGL Astana 2026 was the most-watched CS event in May and the second most-watched Counter-Strike tournament so far in 2026. The Grand Final between Team Spirit and Team Falcons drew the largest audience for the event, where Team Spirit won the title. The final featured Danil “donk” Kryshkovets and Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov on opposing teams.
English-language audiences gave attention to other events as well. The RLCS 2026 Paris Major was the second major Rocket League tournament of the season and drew substantial international viewership. BLAST Rivals Spring attracted strong English-language numbers, with the Natus Vincere versus Team Vitality match reaching more than 323,000 live English viewers.
French-language viewership concentrated on events involving Karmine Corp, whose Rocket League and League of Legends rosters boosted French broadcasts. Matches between Karmine Corp and KOI were among the top draws for French listeners. French viewers also followed the FNCS 2026 Major 1 Summit and Call of Duty League Major 3, where Gentle Mates contributed to peaks.
Spanish-language rankings were led by LEC 2026 Spring, driven in part by the G2 Esports versus KOI matchup and KOI’s Spanish fan base. Spanish audiences also followed PUBG Mobile, Fortnite, and Valorant events; in Valorant, attention split between VCT EMEA, with interest around Team Heretics, and VCT Americas, where KRÜ Esports drew viewers.
Turkish-language viewership showed a mix of titles, with PUBG Mobile, Valorant, Counter-Strike, and Mobile Legends appearing among the market’s top events. Local teams such as Aurora Gaming and BBL Esports featured in several of those broadcasts.
Channel-level figures were dominated by broadcasts of the LCK and MPL competitions. The single most-watched channel in May was a CHZZK feed covering the LCK. Other high-performing channels included broadcasts for Battlegrounds Mobile India, PGL, BLAST, Overwatch esports, and the Esports World Cup qualifiers.
