The League of Legends EMEA qualifier for the 2026 Esports World Cup opened on April 28. English- and French-speaking viewers together accounted for nearly 80% of total watch time, and the French derby between Team Vitality and Solary peaked at about 88,000 concurrent viewers.

Average concurrent viewership on day one was in the high 20,000s, around 28,000–29,000, with typical peak totals in the mid-40,000s, about 45,000–47,000. The Vitality–Solary match registered the day’s highest single-game peak, roughly 3,000 viewers more than the Fnatic–Shifters match.

The language split showed similar total watch time for English and French audiences, but different channel use. More than 90% of English-language viewers watched on Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont’s stream. French viewers were split between the regional broadcaster OTP LoL and César ‘Wakz’ Hugues, head of League of Legends Esports at Solary and a streamer.

On the competition side, Fnatic, Natus Vincere, SK Gaming and Team Vitality advanced to the upper bracket after day one. Those teams will face the top four sides from the LEC Winter Split on April 29 for places in the upper-bracket semifinals. Teams that lost on day one-Shifters, Gallions, Team Heretics and Solary-moved to the lower bracket for elimination matches. One team from the upper bracket and one from the lower bracket will earn berths at the Esports World Cup.

The EMEA qualifiers continue on April 29, when G2 Esports, Karmine Corp, Movistar KOI and GIANTX enter the bracket. The same day will decide the North American qualification spot, as Sentinels and FlyQuest meet for the final place.

The 2026 Esports World Cup for League of Legends expanded to 18 teams. Gen.G Esports has already qualified as the previous edition’s winner. The tournament field will include regional qualifier winners from Europe, North America, South America, APAC, Korea and China, the spring split champions from the LPL, LEC, LCS and LCP, and the winner of the 2026 LCK Road to MSI.
