Legacy retains CS Asia title; event peaks at 477.9K viewers

Legacy beat Team Falcons 3-1 in Shanghai to defend the CS Asia Championship as the event reached a 477.9K live peak audience.

Legacy defended its CS Asia Championship in Shanghai, defeating Team Falcons 3-1 in the grand final. The tournament was the final S-tier event before the IEM Cologne Major 2026.

The event featured 16 teams. Legacy, led by Andrei “arT” Machado, advanced from the group stage among the favorites and moved through the single-elimination bracket with wins over The MongolZ and MIBR to reach the final. Team Falcons had beaten Legacy in the group stage but lost the rematch in the grand final. MOUZ opened the playoffs with a win over B8 Esports before falling to Team Falcons in the semifinals. The MongolZ eliminated PARIVISION in group play, while last year’s finalist 3DMAX failed to progress from the group stage.

Tournament viewership figures show more than 6.6 million hours watched and an average audience of about 137,500 viewers across broadcasts. Peak live viewership reached 477,900, the highest figure recorded in the series; previous editions had not crossed 200,000 peak viewers. The grand final was the tournament’s most-watched match. For Legacy, the final ranked as their most-watched non-Major match of 2026, behind two Major events in 2024 and 2025.

The victory gives Legacy back-to-back CS Asia Championships titles, having also won the event in 2025. The team moves to sixth in the global Valve Regional Standings and first in the Americas. For Team Falcons, the loss is their second grand final defeat since Finn “karrigan” Andersen joined the roster, following a previous final loss at PGL Astana 2026.

CS Asia Championships 2026 concluded ahead of the IEM Cologne Major 2026 in Germany, scheduled for June 2–21, where teams will compete for the next major international title and further changes in the regional standings.
