Kalshi becomes MSG partner as bets on UFOs and pandemics rise

Kalshi signed a multi-year deal to become Madison Square Garden’s official prediction market partner and will place its name on the arena’s sixth-floor concourse.

Kalshi has signed a multi-year agreement to become the official prediction market partner of Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. The company’s name will appear on the arena’s sixth-floor concourse, on digital boards outside the venue and on LED screens inside the bowl. Kalshi branding will also run on broadcasts from MSG Networks during concerts, comedy shows and other events.

Doug Jossem, executive vice president of global sports and entertainment partnerships at MSG Entertainment, welcomed Kalshi as the venue’s first prediction market partner. Adam Barrick, head of sports partnerships at Kalshi, called the arrangement a “major milestone” and added the company was “thrilled” to join MSG.

Prediction markets list contracts that let users bet on the occurrence of specific events. Current markets include health outbreaks, political contests, unidentified aerial phenomena and other unusual or time-bound claims.

One active health market centers on an outbreak tied to the Dutch expedition ship MV Hondius, which sailed from Ushuaia, Argentina, on April 1, 2026. Health officials reported eight infections and three deaths linked to an Andes virus variant, a hantavirus believed capable of limited person-to-person transmission under certain conditions. About 30 passengers disembarked at earlier ports, and officials said potential exposures are being tracked across more than a dozen countries, including the United States, Singapore and several European states.

On one prediction platform, traders wagered more than $2.9 million on a single question: whether the hantavirus would cause a pandemic in 2026. The market’s odds settled at roughly 9% on Friday morning, down from a spike above 40% earlier in the week after initial reports of possible human-to-human transmission. That question drew more volume than several other topics on the platform, including international negotiations and local U.S. races.

Other markets draw attention for their subject matter and assigned probabilities. A competing platform shows about a 2% chance that Jesus Christ will return before 2027. Markets tied to government disclosure of extraterrestrial material list probabilities that the U.S. government will officially confirm the existence of aliens by certain dates: roughly 3% by May 31, 8% by June 30, 14% by Sept. 30 and 21% by Dec. 31.

President Donald Trump directed authorities in February to release alien- and UFO-related files. Public figures have expressed differing expectations about the materials. Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson predicted the releases would be heavily redacted or underwhelming, while former President Barack Obama told an audience that the government was not hiding anything truly significant.

Under the MSG agreement, Kalshi’s branding will be visible to arena attendees and broadcast audiences. The company identifies itself as a prediction market operator; the partnership places that brand in a major live-entertainment venue while markets for health events, politics and unexplained phenomena continue to be offered to online traders.
