IEM Atlanta 2026 will take place May 11–17 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Sixteen Counter-Strike teams will compete for a $300,000 prize pool and for VRS and ESL ranking points. The tournament’s group stage runs May 11–14 and the playoffs run May 15–17.
The event begins with two groups of eight in a double-elimination GSL format. All group matches are best-of-three. The top three teams from each group advance to a single-elimination playoff. Group winners receive byes to the semifinals while the other four qualifiers start in the quarterfinals. The grand final is a best-of-five and a third-place match is scheduled on the final day before the final.
The total prize pool is $300,000, with the champion set to receive $125,000. Teams will earn VRS and ESL ranking points at the event. IEM Atlanta is the first eligible stop for ESL Grand Slam VII, the series that awards $1 million in gold bars to any team that wins four of ten designated ESL events.
The field includes Team Vitality, Natus Vincere, FaZe Clan, Team Liquid, B8 Esports, Astralis, GamerLegion, paiN Gaming, M80, FUT Esports, BC.Game Esports, BetBoom Team, SINNERS Esports, Passion UA, NRG and Legacy. Thirteen teams qualified through VRS global and regional rankings and three earned their spots through regional qualifiers.
Team Vitality enters the event after winning two prior Grand Slams and five tournament titles in 2026. Natus Vincere reached three grand finals and won one title so far this year but has not beaten Vitality in recent official matches. FUT Esports won PGL Bucharest 2026 in April. BC.Game Esports features Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev and recently signed Azbayar “Senzu” Munkhbold.
Live coverage will be available on ESL’s official streams across Twitch, YouTube and Kick. Multiple channels will run during group play to cover simultaneous matches, and community casters are expected to provide additional streams.
Two IEM events earlier in 2026 reached peak viewership above one million. IEM Atlanta’s smaller prize pool and the absence of several top teams affect the probability of matching those peaks, though high-profile playoff matchups can still draw audience spikes.
