Fnatic vs Team Heretics Peak Beats EMEA Final
Fnatic vs Team Heretics peaked at about 274,000 concurrent viewers, roughly 50,000 more than the VCT 2026 EMEA Stage 1 grand final’s 223,254 peak, per viewership data.
The lower-bracket match between Fnatic and Team Heretics reached roughly 274,000 concurrent viewers, higher than the 223,254 peak recorded for the VCT 2026 EMEA Stage 1 grand final, according to viewership data. Overall watch time for the EMEA International League fell by nearly 23% compared with previous benchmarks, with the Group Stage registering record-low audience figures.
The Fnatic–Team Heretics series opened with a win for Fnatic, followed by a 13-2 map for Team Heretics and a deciding 15-13 final map that advanced Heretics through the lower bracket. Team Heretics then defeated Eternal Fire and FUT Esports before reaching the grand final, where they beat Team Vitality 15-13 in overtime to claim the Stage 1 title. Vitality had advanced from the upper bracket after a slow Group Stage performance.
Playoff viewership recovered some audience after the Group Stage, but peak numbers for the final did not match the earlier Fnatic–Heretics matchup. The most-watched single match of Stage 1 remained the Fnatic–Team Heretics lower-bracket series.
Co-streaming activity tracked alongside the tournament showed declines for several previously top-performing channels. A leading French streamer again ranked as the top co-streamer for the league but posted substantially lower numbers year on year. A co-owner and streamer tied to a major French organization saw a sharp drop in peak co-stream viewers that coincided with his team’s 0-5 Group Stage result. A Spanish streamer registered more than a 50% year-on-year fall in viewership but drew higher numbers when he supported Team Heretics during the Playoffs. Other frequent co-streamers appeared less often across Stage 1 broadcasts.
Language markets that previously drove the EMEA circuit lost ground in Stage 1. Peak and total watch numbers fell for English, French and Spanish audiences. Average concurrent viewership for French viewers declined only slightly, while the French peak dropped notably. Viewers using Japanese, Vietnamese and other Asian languages rose into the EMEA top 10 audiences by total watch time for Stage 1.
In contrast, the Pacific region set new records for series peak viewers and for Thai-language viewership during the same period. EMEA’s Stage 1 peak concurrent viewership was roughly 49% lower than the Pacific circuit’s record result. The Pacific region increased viewers in Japan, Vietnam and Thailand and expanded its international English-speaking audience.
