DraftKings, FanDuel Give $41M to Win for America PAC

DraftKings and FanDuel donated $41 million to the Win for America PAC to influence state races over gambling rules, licensing, taxation and consumer protections.

DraftKings Inc. and FanDuel Group contributed $41 million to Win for America, a political action committee that will target state-level contests where gambling policy and regulation are set.

The PAC will deploy the funds in states where sports betting is on the ballot, under legislative review, or where elections could change control of statehouses that write gaming laws. Planned activity includes campaign advertising, voter outreach and other political spending subject to state and federal campaign finance rules.

Company officials said the effort is intended to support candidates whose policy positions align with regulated sports wagering and to influence rules on licensing, tax rates, advertising limits and consumer protections.

Since the U.S. Supreme Court allowed states to legalize sports betting in 2018, operators have expanded rapidly and increased political spending to protect market access and shape regulatory details for online and in-person wagering.

The $41 million is one of the largest coordinated contributions by sports-betting firms to a single PAC focused on state contests. Regulators and legislators have discussed measures tied to responsible gaming, data sharing and limits on promotional offers.

Some consumer groups and state officials have raised concerns about corporate political spending and its effect on public policy. How state elected officials respond in upcoming sessions will affect operator revenues and state budgets through taxes and fees.
