Crazy Raccoon wins OWCS Champions Clash; peak 290,600 viewers

South Korea’s Crazy Raccoon retained the OWCS Champions Clash title in Japan after a seven-map final; the tournament peaked at 290,600 concurrent viewers.

South Korea’s Crazy Raccoon defended its Overwatch Champions Series Champions Clash title in Japan, defeating Twisted Minds in a seven-map grand final. The event was held across Tachikawa and Tokyo and acted as a qualifier for the OWCS Midseason Championship.

The Champions Clash featured eight teams, the top two from each regional league, competing in a double-elimination bracket. Instead of a fixed prize pool, teams received shares of revenue from the tournament’s crowdfunded Elysian Keeper skin bundle. Organizers also staged exhibition show matches alongside the main competition.

Crazy Raccoon advanced to the grand final with an unbeaten run through the upper bracket, sweeping past Dallas Fuel, Twisted Minds and ZETA DIVISION. Twisted Minds recovered from an early loss to progress through the lower bracket and earned a rematch in the final. The grand final went the full Best-of-7 distance, and Crazy Raccoon won the decisive seventh map to claim a second consecutive Champions Clash title.

The tournament drew strong viewing figures, totaling more than 5.4 million Hours Watched and averaging 202,700 viewers. Peak concurrent viewership reached 290,600, the highest for an OWCS event since late 2023 and placing the event among the top eight Overwatch tournaments by peak audience. The lower-bracket final between Twisted Minds and ZETA DIVISION was the single most-watched match, while the grand final reached a peak of 273,700 concurrent viewers. A show match between Team Japan and Team World ranked third by peak audience; Team Japan won that exhibition 1-0.

Community casting expanded significantly for the event. The number of unique streaming channels covering the tournament rose from about 80 in the prior year to more than 250, with larger offerings in English, Japanese and Arabic. Official broadcasts also recorded nearly double the average viewership compared with the previous edition.

With the Champions Clash victory, Crazy Raccoon qualified for the OWCS Midseason Championship in Paris, scheduled for July 29 to August 2 and featuring a $1 million prize pool.
