Bobyard 2.0 speeds takeoffs, unifies AI workbench
Bobyard launched Bobyard 2.0 on April 8, accelerating quantity takeoffs and adding a unified AI Workbench with Review Workflow and Multi-Measure for landscapers.
Bobyard launched Bobyard 2.0 on April 8, making the update available first to landscaping contractors and scheduling broader rollout to other construction trades later in April.
The release focuses on faster quantity takeoffs and a consolidated AI Workbench. The workbench groups the company’s AI features and adds a Review Workflow that lets estimators accept, modify or reject AI-generated outputs before they become part of a takeoff. A new Multi-Measure tool produces related figures-area, perimeter and volume-from a single drawn shape. Legend Manager gives users a place to create and apply symbol and pattern legends, and Text Count converts words or labels in drawings into count measurements.
Bobyard 2.0 links measurement workflows more closely with pricing. The platform uses a “measure first, price later” approach that keeps material lists and costs tied to drawings. Pricing and assemblies can be brought into an Estimate Table so users can move from takeoff to a production-ready estimate without exporting data to spreadsheet software.
The update also includes navigation improvements, such as cross-page search and streamlined file handling, aimed at reducing time spent switching between plans and files during an estimate.
Bobyard reported that its platform can automate up to 70% of the quantity and material takeoff process. The company said users see an average 65% reduction in takeoff time; some estimators reported submitting three to five times more bids and recording improved margins and higher win rates.
Bobyard raised $35 million in a Series A round last year led by 8VC, with participation from Pear VC and Caffeinated Capital.
Michael Ding, founder and CEO of Bobyard, noted that the update reflects customer requests for faster workflows and tighter control over estimates. Marty Grunder, founder of The Grow Group and Grunder Landscaping, described the AI tools as “on another level” and said they cut takeoff time in half on real jobs.
